Rent kayaks or canoes and go for a 6 mile trip down the Dan River
Hunt fairy stones then go for a swim in the lake. A fun way to spend the afternoon. Boats can be rented during some months, check the Fairy Stone Park website.

Laurel Hill is located in the far southwestern part of Patrick County. It is the birth place of J.E.B. Stuart, a Confederate Major General. It is a 75 acre site that is open to the public for walking tours and annual events including a Revolutionary War encampment in the spring, and a Civil War encampment in the fall.
